CHAPTER FIVE: The Implantable Insulin Pump Artificial Pancreas
The Artificial Pancreas. A dream for many (perhaps all) of us living with Type 1 Diabetes.
This chapter will explore the idea of an artificial pancreas BASED upon an implantable insulin pump delivering insulin to the peritoneum AND measuring glucose in the peritoneum. The superiority of such a system is clear and this chapter will explain why that is and will highlight the research leading to this conclusion.
